Tips for a chewing poo!!
So now Jesse has been with us for a few months, she is really showing her true personality and naughty habits. She is proving over the last week or so, to be a chewer. Her breeder/previous owner (one and the same) described her as being the most destructive dog ever!!! and that she would chew her way out of any crate given enough time. She was crated all day every day and so I put this behaviour down to distress and boredom. Now I do stand by that still but she clearly has a natural tendency for chewing, although not to any where near the degree that she was described as being. So far this week, she has attempted to chew through two of Sadies leads, and some toys that she has put holes in. I am just looking for ideas now, that others have used for their dogs, to give them their chewing fix, in a positive way rather than chewing things they shouldn't have.
Re. the leads, I simply take off the leads when in the car, so she just doesnt have the opportunity to chew them.
I give her a Kong with various fillings in a couple of times a week which has been frozen as a treat.
We have a stag bar which she likes to chew on for a minute or so at at a time.
We have fleece tuggies which she likes to sit and chew on for a short time.
She has raw bones every two or three days to chomp on, and chicken wings for a meal sometimes.
What do you all give your dogs for chewing purposes? xxx

Re: Tips for a chewing poo!!
Blimey you have listed all the things I was going to mention
My Dora is a hell of a chewer too, nowhere near what your little Jesse gets her way through but a chewer nonetheless and I did find the safe stix a great help as she wanted to chew but also wanted to carry it [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Might be worth a try

Re: Tips for a chewing poo!!
We did have one of those, but sold it to a neighbour for her dog as neither of these were interested in it. Jesse is a cheeky little poo lol. Not naughty, just very puppy like in that everything seems new to her and exciting so she has to test it all with her teeth. xx

Re: Tips for a chewing poo!!
Just had a thought, what about the activity toys, like the balls that you put treats in, perhaps that would take Jesse's mind away from chewing
Re: Tips for a chewing poo!!
Aren't cockapoos little minx's! In my personal opinion having two goldencdoodles, two labradoodle and a cockapoo. Lola is the biggest diva ever! Labradoodles are a lot less trouble.lol
Mine have the bull horns which seem to keep them occupied. It seems like you have tried almost everything Stacey
What about the anti chewing spray perhaps from Pets at Home?
Wish I could help more sweetie
Other than Jesse chewing, how is she after her little op? All good I hope?

Re: Tips for a chewing poo!!
We do have one treat ball, but she isnt even tempted to try it. We also have a Kong wobbler and a fake version and she isnt fussed on those either. I might try a small treat ball maybe and see if she likes that. If she doesnt, Sadie will so it wont be a waste. I havnt tried bull bars, she will chew on the stag bar for a few minutes so bull bars might be worth a try. She is fine now after her little lady operation thanks Jules. She is a little minx that is for sure!!! xxx

Re: Tips for a chewing poo!!
I guess it's a sign of my age, but I misread the title and immediately thought of adding salt and pepper to add a bit of flavour to the poo being chewed.
Do you want me to leave?
